“I love to think of music as a wild natural playground in which i feel like a child who greatly enjoys freedom of playing, imagining, searching, experiencing, finding, learning, making mistakes, failing, escaping, hoping, creating, re-creating, destroying, growing and changing again and again and again..”
 
Mona Matbou Riahi, was born in 1990 in Tehran. During her early years of music education she studied in “Tehran conservatory of music”. At the age of 17, She moved to Vienna for further studies and entered the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts. She has been experiencing art and music in this city as a performer-Composer-Improviser since then. Her unique approach of performing and boundless technical abilities in improvisation have mesmerized the audience internationally. Her music carries contemporary and classical elements, improvisation as well as electronic experimentation combined with extended technics and innovations in search of unheard sounds and personal language. She has been appeared on stage in different artistic formations and projects including dance, theatre and multi-media art in world-renowned festivals and concert venues.
