Five places. Five musical snapshots. Five studies in creating vertical music in miniature form. Five musical strategies for bending time. Five moments of being.
This recording of a live performance by Berlin-based musician Katharina Schmidt explores percussion as texture and timbre, constantly pushing against the rhythmic grid with unruly loops and scintillating delays, which are blended with subtly evolving drones, smatterings of feedback, and field recordings.
Recorded live on June 24, 2022 at Château Rouge, Vienna
