Clanz is organised by cultural activists with a shared interest in the analysis, intervention & transformation of urban and social spaces through sound.
This in particular is projected upon Trieste/Trst/Triest as a place of ethnic / lingual diversity and complex historical / socio-economic stratas and in search of it’s identity after a disruptive century.
 In order to diversify and develop the landscape of contemporary sound production and to enhance the artistic discourse and exchange in town and with the wider regional context – the triangle between Venice, Rijeka and Ljubljana -, Clanz is inviting residents with innovative artistic positions to develop a new work, that uses sound as its basic element and does – more than to picture – interfere in the context, with the goal of strengthening innovative discourses in the region. Public formats are including dialogical on-site presentations and recording sessions for documentation and for broadcasting.
